My baby was in intensive care for two days. Can my employer terminate me?
My Daughter had a severe Asthma attack over the weekend. She was rushed to the hospital on Saturday and admitted to the P.I.C.U. (Pediatric ICU). She was not admitted until today (Monday). My manager knew I was taking her to the hospital because I had to get is permission to leave work. I called the office the next day to let them know that She was admitted and would be there for at least two days. They said "OK" and to just get a Dr.'s note. I called my manager today to let him know I would be in tomorrow and now he's saying that they are going to terminate me, regardless of the hospitalization or Dr.'s note. Can they do that?
