What should I wear in Egypt?

I am going to Egypt soon, and have no idea what to wear! It's a Muslim country so I have to be appropriate, but it's going to be SOOO hot and I am going to be hiking/climbing and then going into pyramids/mosques. Also, I am taking a 4 day cruise along the Nile river, can I wear swimsuits?
