Where do the wires on my starter solenoid/relay on my fender wall go to?

I have a 1989 ford bronco, and there is a red wire with a blue strip on it that has a socket thing on the end, and it gets pushed onto a small toothed post on the top of the solenoid. Does this wire go straight to the ignition switch? Or does it go somewhere else like the safety neutral switch for example? When the key is turned, it it pushes a post that engages the ignition switch. Then the electric goes from the ignition switch to somewhere else, but it still needs to get to the post on the starter solenoid. Is the wire one straight shot from the solenoid to the ignition switch? or does it branch off somewhere after the ignition switch and then come back to the solenoid?
